TIPS FOR POST-FESTIVAL DETOXIFICATION AND BINGE CONTROL :)

HEY ALL YOU BEAUTIFUL LADIES!

Hope you all had a very happy and safe diwali J. Festivals have been going on and on for almost more than a month :P what with pujas and navratri and now diwali all of us girls have been gorging on fried snacks aerated drinks lots of ghee wala laddoos and rossogollas and what not :P oh and not to mention all those bleaching, make up, straightening, curling, perming can’t have gone down too well on our hair and skin either L. And I am not even going into details of satiated tummies and love handles and flabby arms  :-/ its not our fault ! what are we supposed to do when gorgeous smells invade our senses and we see other people stuffing themselves? ignore?? umm..i don’t think we have that self-control :P speaking for myself I am probably the greediest person alive :-/ so no go! We will binge ;) but yes now that we have stuffed ourselves enough with unhealthy things and our bodies are crying out aloud for some unloading I thought I would share a few tips J

1.don’t look at yourself in the mirror :P ok ok that was just my stupid stat tip! Here come the real ones !

1. do look at yourself properly at the mirror and scrutinize impartially!-
You first have to accept your weight problem (if you have it that is) and then work at it J I know we have a tendency to overlook a little our flabby arms or a little tummy but believe me we are punishing ourselves only in the long run L
So while quacking in fear at what you may face pull out those weighing machines trust me its going to help J

2. eat proper small meals high on protein and low on calories-
I know our first guilt reaction is to stop eating, skip breakfasts and all but believe me that is going to do even more harm! When our bodies go without food for a longer than usual period it feels the need to store up energy in the form of fat! So never never go without food for an extended period of time!

3. flush out the toxins!-
Its best if ou can take raw amla(Indian gooseberry) juice on an empty stomach for 15 days at a stretch (do I hear some yucks :P I know its yucky but amla has wonderful healing properties and is one of the richest sources of vitamin c known yet which aid in flushing accumulated toxins, making skin and hair glossy and healthy and restoring the natural balance of the body J ok ok don’t twitch noses :P I have some alternate remedies too J
You can have warm water on an empty stomach first thing in the morning ( u can or cannot add honey and lemon here doesn’t matter that much IMO).

keep some raw turmeric, germinated sprouts, ginger,  honey and walnuts/almonds overnight in water in a little saucer. Crush them in a mortar pestle (except the nuts) and have them followed by the nuts J these are zero harmful fat, high protein, act as antiseptics to fight your early morning hunger pangs and also eradicate the toxins, lessen hairfall and impart a healthy glow J

4.start exposing your body to a higher level of activity to increase your heart rate and hence metabolic rate to burn off all those calories and for a good dose of healthy hormone secretion J -
go for long walks in place of rickshaws/autos/driving, take the stairs instead of the tempting elevator and escalator (yahh life sucks sometimes!). if some of you like me don’t have the time or motivation for regular gym then following these tips with a little yoga or freehand at home to reduce the excess flab and tone us back into shape J

5.Cut down on bingeing, do not punish yourself J-
Err yeah its finally time to bid adieu to our guilty pleasures ( missing my cheese burst pizza already L and my fulko luchis :’( ) but that in no way means that we have to stuff our faces with a salad while out on a date or hanging out with friends! Eat normally love what you are eating just cut down on portions and limit outside eating to maximum 2 times a week! Avoid unnecessary starch and carbs for some time to increase the fat burning rate J have rotis instead instead of rice ( I hate hate hate rotis :’() avoid potatoes( go for radishes, leafy veggies, cucumber, tomatoes), sugar(have honey), white bread (opt for brown or home made rotis and chapattis without butter)
Minimize your portions so as not to starve your body and stress it further but still to have some of your favorite things! If you have to have garlic bread (that’s me:P) have the normal version not the cheesy or stuffed one! have normal thin crust pizza instead of cheese stuffed one( boo hoo :-<).increase your intake of ghaas phoos :-/ (they are healthy and no fat!).have salads with either no dressing or maximum with a vinaigerette( hope I got the spelling rite :P)
Make easy chaats with boiled sprouts lemon juice , nuts, onions, coriander with almost no fat! Recipes for these healthy snacks coming!

Keep fresh fruits near at hand J whenever you feel hungry go for apples, pears, grapes, papaya, cucumber, guavas and other citrusy fruits. avoid bananas and very sweet fruits like custard apples. I usually slice them up and sprinkle with rock salt and chaat masala!

And drink lots and lots of water! It flushes out toxic materials keeps skin and hair hydrated and healthy and also keeps you filled to stop you from eating more ;)
That’s it for today ladies! Hope you find this article useful and informative! :D
And for the lucky ladies who haven’t gained weight or flab :-/ I ENVY u *huhh* :P
